A brief recap of our origins, who we are today, and why we are excited about the future.

AmeriGives is the longest tenured corporate philanthropy services provider, delivering a wide spectrum of consulting, services, and technology for the workplace giving and philanthropy operations of corporate America. With nearly two generations of experience under our belts, here is more information about AmeriGives.

AmeriGives was founded in 1978 under the name, System Builders. We began by designing and building matching gift software for the world’s largest bank at the time. For a number of years, we remained focused on serving our core client.

In 1990 things changed. With the approval of our clients, we launched our first full service outsourcing arm – The Matching Gift Center – in response to the needs of other corporate giving managers seeking a technologically advanced, cost effective solution for administering their own philanthropic programs.

Since that time, we have been at the forefront of the corporate giving field and the first to introduce a variety of cutting edge concepts including:

Interactive Voice Response (IVR) gift registration; online Volunteer Grant & Special Event program administration; and most notably, the very first online gift registry when the Internet was still in its infancy.

In the autumn of 2000, we embraced a brand update and changed the company’s name to AmeriGives. We relocated the headquarters from New York City to Stuart, Florida. Since then, we have expanded our service offering, upgraded fiscal controls and reporting systems, upgraded the GivingPrograms.com platform, and of course, added customers.

Today we remain the most experienced, innovative leader in the corporate philanthropy field. And through nearly four decades of service, we continue to be reminded in so many ways that this is a service-first industry.
